Le Haye de Compte

The Regimental War Diary says that the Regiment laagered for the night at La Haye de Compte near Louviers before crossing the River Seine on 28th August 1944. The crossing was at St Pierre De Vavray at 1800 hours. This Chateau at La Haye de Compte had been a German Headquarters (photo taken August 2004-Food excellent).
